Level design / System Design

Summary

Solo Project.

 A RPG creature collecting game with a focus on raising/time management. Player interactions, feeding and how they raise the creature is the focus over straight battling. 

Utilizes a modified turn based RPG battle system. Monster Rancher was a major inspiration as is Pokemon.

  • Created using Unreal Engine 5 with blueprints

  • A third person monster raising RPG where you are the Witch/Wizard with familiars that do battle.

  • Creature models are created by me.

Starter Choice

​

Choosing a starter is semi-random, spawning a random creature with a pool of available creatures. More are unlocked as you progress in the game, and you can change your creature at any time you are in the hub area.

Modified Turn Based Combat

​

Combat is turn based, similar to main stream monster collecting games, but with a more diverse stat pool. Moves use stamina, which varies by creatures, and accuracy and evasion are not equal amongst all creatures.

Creature Raising

​

How you spend your time with your creature is more important then just battling. Training will increase stats but increases fatigue which only lowers by resting. 
The world is driven by a week based time system.
