About the Designer – Jake Spencer
I’m Jake Spencer, a passionate Game Designer and lifelong player who graduated from Full Sail University with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science – Game Design (March 2024) and am currently completing my Master’s in Computer Science focusing on AI.
From a young age, role-playing games captured my imagination — not just as entertainment, but as living worlds that shaped my creativity and curiosity. Through my work, I strive to create those same feelings of wonder, immersion, and connection for the next generation of players.
My primary focus lies in RPG system design — crafting deep, interconnected mechanics that support player choice, narrative progression, and emotional investment. I believe that great design lives at the intersection of mechanics and meaning, where every rule, roll, and response contributes to storytelling.
Recently, my love for game design has led me to explore the cooperative potential of artificial intelligence — not as a replacement for human creativity, but as a partner in enhancing player experiences. My current project, the AI Dungeon Master, combines narrative AI with tabletop mechanics to create dynamic, adaptive campaigns that respond to the player’s imagination in real time.
